THRESHING FIELDS LAW was established in 2000 but changed its name to Threshing Fields Law in 2018 as a full-service firm.

In its two decades of existence, THRESHING FIELDS LAW has developed considerable legal expertise and accumulated a wealth of knowledge relating to various sectors of the Nigerian economy. The Firm is recognised and known as one of Nigeria’s top corporate and commercial law practices.

Over the years, the Firm has regularly acted as adviser to leading Nigerian and international multinational companies that require an indigenous firm with energetic and innovative lawyers and high international standards.

For administrative purposes, the Firm is presently comprised of 3 separate practice units covering the broad spectrum of corporate and commercial law practice, being specifically.

• the Corporate and Commercial Practice Unit (general commercial advisory work, foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, tax, telecommunications and other infrastructural projects, intellectual property employment and labour law and immigration matters; Government regulatory, compliance);

• the Energy and Project Finance Practice Unit (energy industry transactions, core oil and gas matters, related foreign investment and project finance transactions, taxation, employment and other oil and gas related corporate and commercial matters); and

• the Maritime, International Trade and Litigation Practice Unit (admiralty and maritime transactions, aviation, insolvency and commercial litigation and arbitration).

From advising on the applicable legislative and regulatory frameworks and corporate compliance matters, to conducting due diligence exercises; resolving labour and trade union disputes, negotiating and drafting the relevant contractual documents; provision of legal opinions and general advisory services; project financing; and provision of legal representation before corporate and governmental bodies, we ensure that advice across a transaction is provided consistently towards achieving our clients’ goals.
